
Flamingos, Lake Nakuru, Kenya
At the time I visited this lake in 1983 there were millions of birds there, but some years later they almost all left due to changing water conditions that effected the availability of their food supply. I have read that recently they have returned in large numbers.

This family were using tools make of leaf stalks to fish out termites from there nest. This behavior is one of the few examples of animals besides humans using tools.
